The Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 1 (DILG RO1), in partnership with Saint Louis College (SLC), is offering a short course on the Formulation of Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) entitled “Management Course for Local Officials and Functionaries of Region 1” starting August 2021.
What is the course about?
 
The study program is a strategic way to capacitate LGU officials and functionaries, and DILG personnel while promoting compliance in the CDP formulation/updating in terms of form, process, and content. The course is a product of the various development and governance engagements of DILG with SLC – a Local Resource Institute (LRI)-member of the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) 1’s Multi-stakeholder Advisory Committee (MSAC).
 
Training Courses include Local Development Planning (equivalent to Climate Disaster Risk Assessment or CDRA), Project Planning and Development (equivalent to Geographic Information System or GIS), and Strategic Planning and Management Control (equivalent to Risk-Informed CDP Formulation) among others.
Who can enroll?
 
> Local officials and functionaries of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union, and
> DILG R1 personnel
 
What are the perks?
 
1. Earn academic units leading to a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and/or
2. Acquire Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units/certificate, if applicable
 
What is the mode and schedule of implementation?
 
> Online via Zoom or Google Meet
> Level I (with 3 subjects) - August 21, 2021 - December 18, 2021
(Saturdays & Sundays)
Level II (with 3 subjects) - January 22, 2022 - May 28, 2022 (Saturdays only)
Level III (with 4 subjects) - June 25, 2022 - July 30, 2022 (Saturdays only)
 
What are the Level I subjects?
 
> PA 107L - Local Development Planning (equivalent to Climate Disaster Risk Assessment or CDRA)
> PA 105G - Project Planning and Development (equivalent to Geographic Information System or GIS)
> PA 110 - Strategic Planning and Management Control (equivalent to Risk-Informed CDP Formulation)
 
How to enroll?
 
> Prepare ID picture (passport size with white background, showing only the head and shoulders) and Copy of OTR
> Visit www.slc-sflu.edu.ph (and click the “Admission” button)
> Answer the online application and upload a copy of the ID picture and OTR
> Wait for SLC’s response regarding the status of admission (SOA), and instructions for the assessment of applicants to be sent through the applicant’s registered email
 
NOTE: Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited slots.
