Laoac’s BIKE for
Continuous Development
(“BIKE for Continuous Development”, is the entry
of Laoac, Pangasinan to the National Literacy
Awards 2012, was subjected to onsite assessment &
validation of the Board of Judges/National Awards
Committee recently.)
The acronym BIKE stands for Baguhin
(transparency and accountability in fi nancial
transactions); Iangat ang Kabuhayan (Economic
Development); Kalidad na Serbisyo Hindi
Negosyo (Quality Public Service); Edukasyon
(Education is the future of the next generation).
This encompasses all the major thrusts of
the present administration which are all geared
towards the upliftment of the quality of life
of every Lawakenian especially the poorest of the poor.
These thrusts are also aligned to the fi ve (5)
performance areas of the Local Governance
Performance Measurement System (LGPMS) of
the Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG), the yardstick of good governance
and the benchmark of all local government
programs, projects and activities.
Major accomplishments of the LGU on education
plant boxes and steel truss roofi ng at Turko Elementary
are the establishment of two (2) integrated schools –
School and Quevedo – Anisca Elementary School,
Calmay Integrated School and Don Maximo G.
respectively and academic scholarships.
Gombio Panaga Tabao Integrated School;
construction of multi-purpose classrooms at The LGU has entered into a Memorandum of
Cabilaoan Agro-Industrial High School & Agreement with TESDA - Luciano Milan
Laoac National High School; distribution of Memorial School of Arts and Trade (LMMSAT)
16 sets of computers and printers in public to establish a TESDA satellite school at
elementary and secondary schools; construction of the municipality under the “Kasanayan, Kabuhayan
Para sa Kinabukasan” program. To date,
1,465 graduates have fi nished different
